James Fuller

Associate Data Scientist II

James Fuller is an associate data scientist in the early childhood development research area. He holds an MA in economics from the University of Texas at Austin and a PhD in public policy from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte. A Marine Corps veteran, he studies veteran labor market experiences and poverty and applies similar methodologies to work at Child Trends.

Prior to Child Trends, James worked as an economist for the Texas Women, Infants, and Children’s program, where he helped expand benefits and availability to participants by conducting research on utilization rates and costs. James has expertise in microeconometrics such as employing quasi-experimental designs, thinking about modeling assumptions and endogeneity, and estimating distributional effects.
